VIP SOLUTIONS which is fully geared to manage VIPs, their organizations, businesses and public lives was born as MARK-SERV in 2002. At the time our focus was Organizations rather than the people behind those. MARK-SERV stood for ‘Marketing Services’ and our business model was to undertake outsourced marketing activities of any business or organization which lacked a dedicated marketing team. Our first major clients were several Brandix companies, Ceylinco IT Solutions, Srilanka.com, Web Genius NZ, Business Insights & Solutions, Ansell Lanka, Hutch and Charter House International.
In 2003 MARK-SERV was incorporated as a private limited liability company. At it’s peak, it had 3 Directors and 22 Business Associates. All associates worked as Consultants whether it was a Data-entry Operator or an IT lecturer at ICASL. Our scope of business gradually widened to Management Services from just Marketing Services at the very beginning. After noteworthy alliances formed with Ceylinco IT Solutions and later with Charter House International to pursue diversified business together, MARK-SERV private limited decided to stand on its own feet. Regardless, we maintained excellent relations with their owners to assist them in various different ways.
In 2008 with the new Companies Act coming into effect, we decided to wind-up due to the extremely unfavorable economic climate in the country and the lack of government support for small enterprises with great ideas. After dissolving the company and proactively helping each loyal associate to find suitable alternate employment both here and overseas, the two Heads who ran the business decided to part ways although they are still very much emotionally wired across continents remembering how a unique business was built through sheer passion. While one joinedx IBM Sri Lanka with a good break, the other decided to freelance weathering storms next two years. In 2010 January the latter was hired by the government as its Consultant Director to lead the 30-staff strong Special Media Unit (SMU) operating the Official Government News Web Portal & the SMS News Alert Service of the Department of Government Information. At the end of a successful tenure, he was handpicked by the Chairman of Orit (which at the time was an American-owned company) to handle 4 functions as the Corporate Branding & Talent Development Manager covering some marketing and some HRD duties. His services were utilized by the WTC head office andy around 10 manufacturing plants employing 300 executives among a 6000-strong workforce producing denim wear for Levi’s, Jones Jeanswear and other brands.
In January 2014 when he decided to leave Orit, he was handling around 20 different support functions helping the core business to retain export market share and look for ways to expand.
Before returning to his own business activities, in the year 2014 he helped two Home Builders to develop their businesses as a full-time manager and head to take them to the next level. Unfortunately as they had incompatible business agendas he soon realised that no time should be wasted on companies which pay lip-service to Change. The time was right to rebuild his own business which focuses on building leaders and their organisations. So, from 2015 January he has for the past 10 years straight focused on building VIP SOLUTIONS to cater to the aspirations and needs of leaders and aspirants. All these VIP clients now have a very realistic chance to develop and prosper during the present Era of Change. We serve business, social, spiritual, and political leaders & aspirants while Sporting Stars, Musicians, Entertainers, other celebrities and celebrity aspirants too reach us for guidance. Finally, any worthy citizen, resident or foreign investor who wishes to be treated as a VIP has an equal opportunity to knock on our door.
In 2008 when this Head began to freelance after the closure of MARK-SERV, only a few business lines were retained. Those included Web Services, Communications Consulting, Business Development Consulting, Real Estate Services & Investment, Training & PR. For Web Services & Solutions he was joined by brilliant, young and visionary web designer who was only 21. As the co-founder of VIP SOLUTIONS he has been loyal and faithful to the Cause ever since. While his senior partner took up full-time employment between 2010 – 2015 he overlooked all business areas in addition to hisx main focus.
This enterprising young man while managing the development of Srilankawebpages.com, handled other ICT requirements of our clients to keep the business going in the absence of his Master who was to later become his partner in business. During this period our clients included the Ranjan Wijeratne Foundation, Little Einsteins Montessori School,x Jayasri Amazing Predictions and Amila Nadeeshani of Sirasa Superstar fame.
In 2010 while taking care of business brought-in by his senior partner, he started his own venture called VIP Web Solutions to attract a whole new clientele. All our existing clients as well as our own National Web Directory project then were all handed over to the new associate business.
In 2015 when the senior partner ended his 5-year stint in the corporate world, he made a pledge to his business partner that he would never take his eyes off their own business as the time was right to relaunch. That’s how and why they got back together full-time to create VIP SOLUTIONS to cater to the needs of VIP clients especially covering the crucial business areas of Communications, Business Development, Real Estate Services, Public Relations and Web Solutions. For web solutions, it was decided that all work will be outsourced to our Associate Business VIP Web Solutions.
